Our new magical crochet-along with Hobbii!
Magic Feather CAL
This September Amigurumi School of Magic door are opened to all! After a fantastic Make-along last September we have teamed up with Hobbii again, to bring even more crochet magic to everyone's hooks!
#MagicFeatherCAL is a new mysterious, whimsical and quirky adventure to crochet along together in the weeks before Halloween - join us and try out new techniques, connect with fellow crocheters and watch your project come to life one part at a time.
Our Mystery Design
Designing this new mystery was so much fun!! We were inspired by old libraries, feathered magical friends and hidden surprises....

The palette has warm oranges and yellows, rich teals, greens and purples, and some softer lilac colours too. Plus two very special yarns to add that texture we both love!
All the colours work together to create a whimsical Decorative and Interactive design full of crochet magic!
Exclusive Kit

Each kit will have all the yarn you need to complete the project. Plus plenty of toy stuffing, a cute little notebook with an original illustration drawn by us, and some crafty notions.

Tension Gauge
For this project we recommend using a 2.5mm or 3mm hook, depending on your crochet style and tension.
Gauge is not usually critical in amigurumi, but if you are using exclusively the yarn from the kit, it is advisable to keep your tension as close to ours as possible to avoid running out of certain colours. However, there should be plenty of yarn for you to make everything and even swap to different colours if you like!

Pattern for round gauge, make it in lilac:
Rnd 1: start 7sc in a magic ring [7]
Rnd 2: inc 7 times [14]
Rnd 3: (1sc, inc in next st) 7 times [21]
Rnd 4: (inc in next st, 2sc) 7 times [28]
Fasten off.
Pattern for square gauge, make it in teal:
Row 1: ch11, starting in second ch from hook, sc in all 10 ch, turn [10]
Row 2-10: ch1, 10sc, turn [10]
Do not fasten off, set aside the yarn ball with the sample square attached.
If your gauge is similar to our sample the circle should measure around 4 cm across while the square is 4 by 4 cm (or just a couple millimeters shy).
Adjust the crochet hook size to get your tension closer! Pick a smaller crochet hook if your circle is larger, while you need to choose a bigger hook size if your circle is much smaller.
